A Message from the
NAMSS Conference Chairman

Dear NAMSS Members,
This September, I hope you will join
me and hundreds of your colleagues in
Hollywood, Florida for the NAMSS 37th
Educational Conference & Exhibition .
Planning for what promises to be one of
the best annual conferences in NAMSS
history is well underway . In January, the
Conference Committee carefully reviewed
more than 110 abstracts that potential
speakers submitted for consideration and
the committee selected the top 40 for
presentation during the conference . This
year, we have a wide variety of topics and
presenters — some old friends and some
new friends that we can’t wait to hear
from . Those who take full advantage of the
offered educational sessions can earn up to
16 continuing education credits (CEs) —the
most we have ever been able to offer at
the annual conference . The conference will
kick-off with the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
on Sunday evening, September 22, and
will conclude on Wednesday afternoon,
September 25 .
In addition to the annual conference, we
will be offering several pre-conference
sessions on September 21 and 22 including:
•	 Credentialing 101 – targeting those who
are new to the profession or looking for
a refresher
•	 CPCS and CPMSM Prep Courses – for
those preparing for certification
•	 Partnering for Performance – an engaging
educational program featuring industry
leaders presenting topics including the
National Healthcare Perspective and
Patient Safety and Quality; Leadership
Skills; State of the Art Peer Review;
Healthcare Reform; Accountable Care
Organizations; Regulatory Compliance;
Physician-Hospital Integration and
Alignment; and Change Management . You
can’t afford to miss this program!
I can’t end without mentioning the venue
for this year’s conference, The Westin

Diplomat . I had the opportunity to tour the
space earlier this year . I can attest to the fact
that this property is beautiful . No matter
what you like to do — enjoying restaurants,
sipping a drink, sitting by the pool, playing
on the beach, and/or visiting the first-class

including incredible conference facilities
where you will participate in first-class
