New Jeti Titan S and HS
Flatbeds from Agfa
Agfa has launched its new Jeti Titan S and HS flatbed
UV-inkjet printers. Both new printers can accommodate 122 x 79-in. rigid media and utilize Ricoh Gen 5
printheads (1280 nozzles, 7-pL droplet size). The Titan S
(the "S" stands for "speed") is equipped with one row of
printheads but can be upgraded in the field to two rows,
becoming a Titan HS ("high speed").
The printers feature a CMYKcm + white inkset,
using Agfa Graphics' fast-curing Anuvia UV-curable inks
designed specifically for high-end production platforms.
Various white-print modes are supported, including
overprint, underprint, spot, under-spot, fill, over-spot for
rigids, and pre-white for roll media. An automated recirculation system for white ink is standard.
Top print speed is 1722 sq ft/hr; max. resolution
is 720 x 1200 dpi. Other features on the new flatbeds
include: auto head-height system; in-line shuttle safety
sensors; a precision moving table; a flat-to-roll (FTR)
option (print flexible media up to 126-in. wide); Agfa's
Asanti workflow specifically designed for wide-format
job management; and more. Max. media thickness
is 2 in.

SAi Introduces PixelBlaster 3.0
SA International has released PixelBlaster 3.0, the latest version
of its modular and scalable production software. Specifically
designed to meet the needs of users in superwide and high-volume
production and specialty-printing environments, PixelBlaster 3.0
features a PDF-based RIP, a customer-selected suite of workflow applications; and the ability to standardize color based on
industry-accepted profiles including Gracol, Fogra, and Euroscale.
In addition, version 3.0 features: PixelBlaster Layout; a new integrated media manager and test-chart generator in Library; support for various double-sided printing applications; and improved
queue handling and RIPing (and new rendering parameters).
