Healthy Scratch
Lorich calls the local food truck market "very saturated in
certain areas," but adds that "there's still tons of room for
expansion." The owners of the Healthy Scratch food truck
- daughters of the family that owns the Buffalo Sabres and
Bills - decided to explore a niche that would satisfy something
other than a late-night craving for grease. They serve
smoothies, cold-pressed juices, gourmet toasts, and graband-go meals right in the heart of downtown Buffalo.
Midnight Smokin' BBQ
"We had the vision of a cool-looking pig," Lorich says of the
design for the Midnight Smokin' BBQ truck. Streamline often
uses Magnum Magnetics' DigiMag Vinyl magnetic sheeting to
create removable menuboard pieces - an idea thought up
after hearing the daily struggles of many food truck owners.
Say you're working a big event and you run out of pulled
chicken. With a chalkboard, you have to scribble it out or tape
over it with an ugly "sold out" sign. With magnetic-receptive
media, items can be removed and prices can be changed with
no one the wiser. "It's the little things that we've learned along
the way to make it look easy and professional," Lorich says.
Souped Up
The owners of the Souped Up truck wanted something
different for their wrap - "something a little crazy, a little
bright, something that's not already out there," says Lorich.
They came to Streamline with a vision of a 1950s comic
book, and the shop turned around a design that went on
to claim Mobile Cuisine's prize for 2017 Best Food Truck
Graphic Design.
Tom Wahl's
BIGPICTURE.NET
This truck - the largest the Streamline crew
has ever wrapped - features a 26-foot kitchen,
designed to churn out 350 burgers per hour. (The
average food truck kitchen is about 18 feet long.)
Tom Wahl's was looking to ramp up their catering
efficiency and wanted a 1950s-style diner feel to
complement their homemade root beer, burgers,
and fries. Lorich says one of the tricks of the trade
they've learned is to position logos and contact
information strategically; when the service window
is open, customers should still be able to see who
they're buying from.
