Pantone Reveals
New Color Honoring Prince
Pantone Color Institute and
the Prince Estate have
released a standardized
custom color to pay tribute
to the late international
music, art, and fashion
icon Prince. "Love Symbol
#2" ( ) is a purple hue
inspired by Prince's custommade Yamaha purple piano
and longtime association with the color since the
release of the film and song "Purple Rain" in 1984.
"Love Symbol #2 is emblematic of Prince's distinctive style. ... [It] enables Prince's unique purple
shade to be consistently replicated and maintain
the same iconic status as the man himself," says
Laurie Pressman, VP of the Pantone Color
Institute, in a release.

location in Irvine, California. Eric
Dalton, GMG Americas west region
director of sales, heads the new West
Coast office. GMG reports it aims to
expand the company's presence in the
region, better serve its customers
through quicker response times in the
same time zone, and become more
involved in the local print community.

Smithers Pira has released the speaker lineup for the Digital
Print for Packaging Europe 2017 conference, set for December 5-7 in Berlin. The event offers market updates, case
studies, technology developments, and more through 21
presentations across four sessions:

featuring Unilever, Nestlé, Coca-Cola, and more
* How Digital Print Drives Growth in Flexible Packaging

Additionally, Smithers Pira will host a half-day workshop on

Mimaki USA has launched a mobile app for
iOS and Android devices. The app enables
users to search for printer, plotter, ink, and
software product information through their
mobile devices. Additional features include a
"help me choose" guide, dropper button for
CMYK color analysis, and a contact page.

ANNOUNCES
NEW DISTRIBUTOR
CET Color has announced a distribution agreement with
Offtech New England, a dealer of printing and fi nishing
equipment and systems. Offtech New England will offer the
full line of CET Color equipment.
