A Show 20 Years in the Making
Two decades of experience helps HBA Global Expo deliver an opportunity-rich show for beauty and personal brands.

For 20 years, HBA Global Expo & Conference has provided beauty and personal-care professionals with a meeting place to network, learn and discover new products for the entire product development process. On June 19, 2012, HBA Global returns to the Javits Center in New York to deliver even more resources, education, design ideas and networking opportunities to help products and brands succeed. “For anyone considering launching a personal care product, HBA is an invaluable source. Between the educational seminars and the exhibition floor, everything they need is there in one spot,” says Karen Young, CEO, The Young Group. “Not only does the show cover every aspect of the development chain: honing concepts, finding packaging, retail distribution and guerilla marketing, in addition to all the experts are on hand to answer questions and provide direction.” Beauty and personal-care product-development teams can expect an on-trend conference program, new pavilions, exciting show floor features, special events and a 20th Anniversary party. Here are some highlights: Visionary Keynote Panel kicks-off the threeday event and provides plenty of food for thought about how attendees can maximize their learning and discovery. Splash Pavilion features 30 finished-good products from all over the world that may be the next big things in beauty and personal care. “Today’s beauty consumers have an insatiable hunger for innovation and newness,” says Ann

Colville Somma, innovation consultant, blogger (Cult of Pretty) and HBA Splash Jury Member. “I’m thrilled to be part of discovering and showcasing the next wave of beauty must-haves.” Design Hot Spot is a new Global area. This area brings together outside the norm design ideas with innovative materials from Material Connexion and inspiration from experts like Trendincite. Innovation Pavilions are destination areas on the show floor that spotlight “hot” productdevelopment areas. Chicago Paper Tube & Can, who provides sustainable packaging for designer brands and luxury labels, anchors the Innovations in Eco & Sustainability Pavilion and will be showcasing eco-friendly paperboard alternatives to plastic, metal and glass cosmetics and personalcare packaging, including 100% paperboard compacts, jars, canisters and dispensers. Mintel heads up the Innovations in Anti-Aging Skincare and will offer daily interactive product demonstrations that showcase the latest technology, active ingredients and positioning claims in anti-aging from around the world. Innovations in Tubes will be a one-stop-shop for products, education and networking with the Tube Council as anchor and support from leading members companies. Enhanced New Product Showcase features exhibitors’ latest offerings in formulation, packaging, private label and more. 20th Anniversary & Industry Awards Celebration starts Tuesday, June 19 from 4-6 p.m. in the Special Event Hall.
