Package Design thanks Hazen Paper Company, the
sponsor of the 2013 Makeover Challenge. Hazen
Paper is a paper converter specializing in custom
holographic originations; film, foil and paper laminations; specialty and gravure coatings; and rotary
embossing. Founded in 1925, Hazen Paper is
based in Holyoke, MA, with satellite facilities in
Osgood, IN, and Housatonic, MA.

his year's Makeover Challenge-sponsored by Hazen Paper
Company-marks a decade for the blue-sky design contest. It's only fitting that we chose a well-known CPG
brand for this monumental event-NOW Foods, a maker of supplements, personal care products and natural foods.
As our contest grew, voter participation followed suit. This year,
we had package designers, creative and marketing directors, executives from the C-suite, owners of boutique brands and more, vote
in-person at Pack Expo Las Vegas and online for their favorite
redesigns from Brian Schultz Design, McHale Design Inc., One
Zero Charlie and QNY Creative. All four agencies reimagined the
