snap SHOTS A Chipper Celebration Snack food company opens anniversary festivities with celebratory package design. C atering to consumers' needs is a longstanding practice for Husman's Snack Food Company; founded in 1919, 24-year-old Harry Husman worked as a materials salesperson catering to grocers. Husman noticed the supply and demand presence in local Cincinnati area grocers was offset and decided to produce potato chips to meet consumers' needs; thus Husman's Snack Food Company was born. To celebrate 95 years of providing consumers with tantalizing treats, Husman's is launching a multichannel anniversary campaign, including a special 95th anniversary bag. Adorned with brightly colored balloon graphics scattered on pack, the Husman's anniversary bag features a sunburst yellow graphic with copy reading, "started in a sunlit kitchen," as well as copy prominently displaying 95 years. The foundation year, 1919, and current year, 2014, are flanked in a blue colored banner on either side of the sunburst graphic. Crown-worthy Customization Glamour is delivered via show stopping package design. I n concurrence with Farouk Systems Inc., parent company of Chi styling products and tools, Miss Universe Style Illuminate waltzes onto retailers' shelves nationwide as a line of hair styling products and tools. As part of a licensing partnership that Parham Santana (, The Brand Extension Agency, manages for client, The Miss Universe Organization, the wet hair care products are housed in aptly distinguishable hot pink metallic cans and PET bottles with silver metallic closures and cutout metallic lettering. Brushed aluminum cans feature a gloss finish in Rhodamine Red C Pantone and translucent PET bottles feature the same Pantone treatment via colorant to create the hot pink hue. A hinged closure gives the black and feature metallic pink setup boxes a touch of premium. The branding and packaging was designed to reflect a feeling of "glamorous sophistication," according to Basim Shami, CEO, Farouk Systems Inc. "The goal was to capture the look of Miss Universe herself in each product, from color scheme, to bottle choice and even to small emblems and details." 12 JUNE/JULY 2014
