3A’s FiberMate Panel
3A Composite’s (Statesville, NC) FiberMate™ 3.2mm-thick, recyclable, wood-fiber panels are front- and back-side coated with 3A’s white, water-based Eco-Finish™ that’s California Air Resource Board (CARB) compliant and designed to provide excellent ink and paint adhesion. Measuring 49 x 97 in. and made from 100% recycled fiber, FiberMate panels are recyclable as wood or paper waste – if the printing ink or mounting material is also recyclable. 3A recommends the product for medium-term POP displays, exhibits, kiosks and interior signage; it can be painted, screenprinted, digitally printed and saw cut or machine routed. Mitsubishi‘s Alpolic Panel
Mitsubishi Plastic’s Alpolic® Materials Div. (Chesapeake, VA) produces Alpolic/fr LT rigid panels suited for such outdoor applications as signs, soffits, awnings and parapets. It comprises 0.3-mm-thick aluminum skins and a fire-retardant core. The sides are finished with a polyester coating of clean, metallic or such selectable patterns as stone, timber, metal and abstract finishes. The LEED Green Building Council USA-certified material is also suitable for interior walls, columns, ceilings and partitions in shops, offices and factories. Lamitech’s Opaque Paper
Lamitech Inc. (Cranbury, NJ) offers its 100% opaque, Opacity II paper for printed window signs, banners and posters. The inexpensive, lightweight and rigid paper features bright-white, clay-coated surfaces (for one- or two-sided inkjet, offset or screenprinting) and a light-blocking, opaque-black center layer. Kommerlings’ KömaAlu Composite Material
Kommerling USA (Huntsville, AL) provides KömaAlu, a clad-aluminum composite material for signage, tradeshow booth and POP displays, that comprises two aluminumbased, baked-enamel, polyestercoated sheets that sandwich a polyethylene core. KömaAlu’s .025mm skin allows bending, cutting, shaping and drilling with normal shop tools. Available colors are white/white; gloss white/matte white; and white/black.
