AGL Wide-format Laminators
Three of Advanced Greig Laminator, Inc.’s (DeForest, WI) 62-in.-wide, AGL Encore series laminators – the Maxim, DHR and SH – feature heated-roll, sensor-controlled, silicone-coated steel rollers; quick-latch loading that ensures straight processing; and a fast-load, tapered, core chuck. In ascending order, AGL’s Encore SH features a quick-latch load assembly and temperature, pressure and speed controls, plus a foot-operated jog switch. The Encore DHR adds bi-directional operation, a pull-roll system, dial-in spacer and dual controls. It also features digital-speed readout and a chiller-bar that helps control media curl. The Encore Maxim adds a repeatable-tension brake, print holder, and pivoting front and rear tables. The brake, holder and tables are options for the DHR and SH systems. SEAL 65 Pro MD Wide-Format Laminator
Seal (Sun Prairie, WI), a Neschen America company, builds its Seal 65 Pro MD laminator for finishing professionals. Offering both hot and cold laminating, the 65-in.-wide laminator features an Easy-Operator Interface that controls temperature, speed (up to 15 ft./min.), cooling and nip height. Further, the pivoting, swivel-arm control panel allows you to work from machine front or back. Other features comprise swing-out, auto-grip shafts for quick film/ roll loading with one-twist, lock-in-place return action. Seal says its Pro MD’s pneumatically controlled, sinusoidal-roller design allows quick adjustments and high-level performance. The laminator’s bi-directional operation allows consecutive processing -- you can apply the front roller to hot laminating work while the rear ones pre-coat substrates or mount graphics. The machine also features dual-quartz, infrared heating elements that provide fast heating and uniform, full-width temperature consistency. Rollsroller Flatbed Appllicator
Reklamide AB (Karlstad, Sweden; Toronto, ON, Canada), the maker of RollsRoller® flatbed applicators, say the machine immediately turns a two-man gig into a one-man operation. The series – Basic, Premium and Traffic – is built with longlasting steel frames and include a self-healing cutting matte. The Basic model offers four table sizes, ranging from 1,400 x 2,500 to 1,630 to 4,000mm. The Premium table sizes range from 1,400 x 4,000 to 1,630 x 10,800mm. It features side pockets, media holders and lighting, all of which are optional purchases for the Basic model. All models accept materials up to 60mm thick. Other options comprise an adjustable table height, double-glide beams, a media holder, cleaning system and quiet compressor.
