INDUSTRY NEWS ISA Announces Streamlined Board Following on the heels of membership ratification of the ISA Reorganization Plan, ISA has announced its streamlined board of directors, from 27 to the current 15. As a way to somewhat bridge the gap, ISA has also announced a new type of volunteer, the program committee chairperson, of which there will be 10. In addition, eight people will chair subcommittees. All 15 current board members are from the original 27. No new members have been appointed, nor was anyone asked to resign. People whose terms had expired were simply not replaced. Board membership is divided into four categories. The two sign-company categories include one for companies that are direct members of ISA, and one for companies that are affiliate members at the local level. A third category includes suppliers/distributors. Finally, there are two unrestricted/at-large seats on the board. The makeup of the four-member Executive Committee remains unchanged. Here is a board member list: Executive Committee • Chairman of the Board: Harry Niese, Mid West Sign Supply, Chicago • Vice Chairman: Chad Jones, Southwest Signs, San Antonio • Secretary/Treasurer: Christopher Flejtuch, Quality Roland DGA Promotes Scrimger and Goward Effective Jan. 1, 2013, Rick Scrimger, formerly vice president of sales and marketing of Roland DGA (Irvine, CA), replaced current Roland DGA President Dave Goward, who has been appointed president of worldwide sales and an executive officer for Roland DG (Hamamatsu, Japan). Goward will continue with Roland DGA through the remainder of 2013 as chief executive officer, and provide strategic guidance. Scrimger will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company, and provide critical market insights to Roland DG’s product-development team. With more than 30 years of senior-level management experience, including 18 years with Roland DGA, Goward has been instrumental in developing the company’s sales, service and distribution organizations, resulting in 600% growth, the company states. Scrimger’s background includes 20 years in product management, marketing and sales, including 15 with Roland DGA.
