Dynamic Displays at the LAX Tom Bradley Intl. Terminal Moment Factory creates “spectacular” venues in an airport environment. By Darek Johnson ST covered Moment Factory’s featuredBowl XLVI Super halftime lighting project – which Madonna’s spectacular halftime performance – in its March 2012 issue (see page14). Moment Factory (Montreal) is a new-media and entertainment studio that specializes in the conception and production of multimedia environments. For Madonna, Moment Factory combined video, lighting, architecture, sound and special effects that created a remarkable experience. In that report, we said, “The Moment Factory’s team of 12 multimedia artists created the [Super Bowl XLVI halftime] 3-D projections. This crew collaborated with 66 SIGNS OF THE TIMES / AUGUST 2013 / Bruce Rodgers, the show’s production designer, and lighting designer Al Gurdon, plus Madonna herself, and dozens of other teams that designed and programmed the show effects.” Writer Ellen Lampert-Greaux, for Livedesignonline. com, wrote, “The [Madonna halftime show] result was among the most technically challenging halftime-show designs on record, with the largest cast, the most lift effects, biggest projection and lighting rigs, the fastest installation and strike, the most extensive field projection – and the best creative casting and costuming coordination ever in Super Bowl history.”
