(Phoenix) has revamped its marketing and communications department with David Conrad as the director of marketing, Michelle Johnson as corporate events and communications manager, and Joseph Anderson as marketing coordinator. Working under the guidance of general manager Brian Phipps, Conrad will oversee Mutoh’s North and South American marketing efforts, through enhancing brand image, creating creative promotions and working closely with resellers and customers in an effort to grow both regions. Johnson’s main focus will be  creating and implementing corporate events, including tradeshows, open houses and training classes at Mutoh’s learning facilities. He was 57. The former president of the California Sign Assn. was well known for restoring and preserving neon signs. Among the company's more notable signs is the 85-ft. Tachi Palace casino sign installed in Lemoore in 1997. A Fresno native, Jeff began pinstriping and painting signs as a teenager, and painted store windows with Christmas displays with his aunt, Helen Torigian. Early in his career, Jeff worked for Arnold Signs and Ed Antenucci Signs, where he he learned about neon and other types of electric signs. He later purchased Ward Sign and Graphics, and eventually transformed it into Commercial Neon.
