vinyl-removal advice, however, so
let's assume he subscribes to Rob's
advice and avoids unpredictable work.

vinyl is easy to remove, and the
general prescription is to apply
heat via a heat gun, pull smartly
and have patience. Heat, peel, heat,
peel, is the standard process Also,
many operators keep one hand near
the heat-gun blast, as they apply
heat, to help judge the surface
temperature (your hand is 97°, and
100° is a suggested vinyl-removal
temperature, so work for a slightly
hot, but tolerable, vinyl-surface
temperature).
A laminate coating eases vinyl
removal.
You'll also hear discussions on
the pull angle, i.e., the angle at
which you hold the vinyl as you
pull it from the vehicle. Some
choose 180°, but most advisors
prefer a 45° angle. "Don't yank,"
is prevailing advice.
Further, today's premium vinyl,
offered specifically for vehicle wraps,
is designed to not leave adhesive
residue, but, just in case, it's good
to have adhesive remover on hand.
Sign suppliers should be your
first choice for vinyl- and adhesiveremoval purchases, because they
both know the trade and support
the industry. Also, YouTube is rife
with vinyl-removal videos, and
Amazon.com sells vinyl-removal
wheels and various adhesiveremoval formulae.
All said, keep Rob's end-sight
advice - and Cinderella's pumpkin
