for longer than planned. "A typical
wrap is not supposed to be on for
six years," said Ron Shaw, owner/
president. "Usually, about four
years is the timeframe, but we
have been so busy; it's hard to do
stuff for yourself." Removing the
old wrap proved to be no small
task. Shaw said the sections that
had faced the sun were "horrible
to remove." Once that was finally
accomplished, designer Ken Valentine used Photoshop and Illustrator
to design the new wrap, though
settling on a new design was also
a challenge. "I did try and go with
colors that are in our logo," Shaw
said, but he found it "harder to do
a design for yourself than for your
customers because I see a lot of

printed its wrap on an HP Latex
360 using Arlon 6100XLP media,
and used 3220 Gloss 2-mil cast
overlam clearcoat on a Seal Image
62 Plus laminator. Brad Hennen,
Andy Danna, Matt Bonner and
Shaw himself used Geek Wrap
squeegees, knifeless tape, a wrap
slitter, a straight-blade knife and a

to complete
the installa-
tion. "This is definitely our showcase truck," Shaw said. "We get
asked all the time about the wrap
and hand out our business cards
because of it."
The moral of these stories? Once
you wrap your shop vehicle with a
colorful, catchy and even slightly
crazy design, be sure to carry a
handful of business cards at all
times. n
