Distributed in the US exclusively by Ryonet, rYOnEt the unit features adjustable spray nozzles at each printhead to distribute the right amount of moisture for the printing environment. A single storage tank with a capacity of 5.8 gal and a water-treatment system to filter out contaminants is positioned under the press. A sensor level with an alarm alerts the operator when water is low. According to Ryonet, the unit can be used on any ROQ automatic press. Industrial Capillary Film Benchtop UV-LED Flatbed Printer Roland has introduced the VersaUV LEF-300 benchtop UV-LED flatbed printer, the largest model to date in the series. The LEF-300 prints on a variety of substrates - including PET, ABS, polycarbonate, TPU, leather, smartphone cases, and promotional items - up to 30 in. wide and 3.94 in. thick. The benchtop printer leverages four printheads and two UV-LED lamps for bidirectional printing reportedly 60% faster than the LEF-20. The number of white and clear ink nozzles have also been doubled for increased speed, density, and opacity, as well as multilayer printing for 3D textures. Features also include a draft print mode for prototyping, a built-in vacuum table for thin and soft materials, and a BOFA air filtration system. The printer uses the company's new EUV4 inks, in CMYK + white + clear, designed to reduce odor and shrinking of thin film materials. Available in 500-mL cartridges for all colors except white. The LEF-300 comes with the company's VersaWorks Dual RIP software with PostScript and PDF support. The platform also offers features for offset, positioning, rotation, registration of ink layers, and automatic creation of white and clear ink effects. Automatic Press Humidifier One of the biggest challenges in water-based screen printing is keeping ink from drying in the mesh. First shown at FESPA 10 screenprinting Ikonics Corporation has extended its Chromaline Screen Print Products line with the addition of Alpha MicroCap A, a capillary film for industrial and printed electronics applications. The film offers the ability to resolve sharp features down to 20 microns and is designed to optimize emulsion over mesh ratios for improved ink/ paste release and print quality. The company also reports improved screen-room efficiency and screen-to-screen consistency. Available in a variety of thicknesses CHrOMALinE and custom sheet sizes. Wide-Format Inkjet Printers for Film Positives At the Long Beach Imprinted Sportswear Show in January, Epson unveiled two wide-format inkjet printers aimed specifically at producing high-quality film positives for traditional screen printing. The P800SP is a 17-in., borderless desktop printer using Epson's MicroPiezo AMC printhead technology and the new UltraChrome HD 8-color pigmented ink set with resolutions up to 2880 x 1440 dpi. The T3270, a standing unit adapted from a CAD printer, offers 24-in.-wide output and uses UltraChrome XD 5-color
