America's newest wild space and
it's ripe for exploring. Indiana
Dunes - formerly a national
lakeshore - became the 61st
national park in February 2019. Its
more than 50 miles of hiking trails
include 15 miles of Lake Michigan
shoreline and paths that crisscross
the 15,000 acres of dunes,
beaches, prairies, marshes and
forests. In winter, sledding, cross
country skiing and snowshoeing
will top your to-do list, while the
rest of the year you'll find plenty
of bird watching (banks swallows,
loons, coots and other migratory
waterfowl), geocaching and a hike
to the top of Mt. Tom, the 192-foot
sand dune overlooking the lake.

In December 2019, Kruger Shalati: The Train on the Bridge, from
South Africa's oldest black-owned and operated South African
tourism group, opens. As the name implies, the 31-room hotel
includes 24 rooms in elegantly refurbished train carriages parked
permanently on the Selati Bridge above the Sabie River, and seven
additional rooms stand perched on the river's edge in the Bridge

COUNTRY WALKERS; KRUGER SHALATI

Beginning Oct. 1, 2019, air and
cruise travelers headed to New
Zealand will need to hold an
electronic visa waiver. This also
applies to visitors transiting through
New Zealand, even if it's not their
final destination. The New Zealand
ETA will be valid for two years and
can be used for multiple visits.
Applicants are required to pay a
small processing fee and tourist tax.
The application form will require
applicants to provide information
such as their full name, address, date
of birth, passport details and travel
plans. For more
