AGENT SPOTLIGHT
Creating Family Travel Memories

Growing up hearing her grandparents' travel stories about places like India, New
Zealand, Malaysia and other exotic locales enchanted Jennifer Jones. When she moved
to North Carolina from South Dakota to attend college, Jennifer worked with a
travel agent to book her ticket home for the holidays. Talking with the agent
excited Jennifer so much, she knew just what she wanted to do. She now works
as a AAA Travel Agent in the Greensboro, N.C., office.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR JOB?
I love the relationships I've built over the years. Many of my clients started
working with me when their children were young. Now that their children
are grown, I have helped many of them with their honeymoons and family
vacations. I truly feel like they are an extended part of my family. Life can
be hectic. I am helping these families create memories they will cherish
forever.
WHAT TYPES OF TRIPS DO YOU BOOK THE MOST?
I book a lot of European travel. Many clients' travels abroad start
there. As clients find they have seen much of Europe, they start
exploring more exotic locales. Over the past 10 years, I have seen
growth in travels to Australia, New Zealand and South America.
WHAT IS THE MOST REWARDING PART OF YOUR JOB?
I love hearing how travel has changed someone. I believe that we are
better citizens of the world when we experience different cultures and meet
people we never knew we would.
WHAT'S THE MOST MEMORABLE VACATION YOU'VE EVER HAD?
I like to think the last place I have been is my new favorite place, though
each is special in their own right. I loved the Galapagos for the adventure and the
wildlife unlike anywhere elsewhere, Jordan for the jaw-dropping wows and culture
and Hawaii is just magical. The most memorable vacations have to be our family
vacations. It gives such joy as a parent to experience new places and share adventures
with your children.

WHAT'S THE MOST MEMORABLE TRIP YOU'VE PLANNED?
The multi-generational trips are the most memorable for me to plan. Many
grandparents are taking their children and grandchildren to celebrate big milestones, such
as a 50th anniversary trip to Alaska, the Caribbean or a cruise in Europe. It can be a
challenge to get all the details worked out for so many people, but it's wonderful to see
the whole trip and family come together. My grandparents did this for our family as I
was growing up, and knowing the memories we all have now that my grandparents are
gone makes helping with this type of trip very meaningful to me.
