TRAVEL BUZZ Reservations Required at Diamond Head Oahu, Hawaii As part of Hawaii's plan to reduce the environmental impact on Oahu's Diamond Head State Monument, out-of-state visitors will now need to make reservations to this popular attraction, and may do so up to 14 days in advance. Drop-off or walk-in visitors select one-hour entry time slots, while those driving can book up to two consecutive two-hour time slots. Residents of Hawaii do not need reservations and can visit for free, though entry will depend on parking availability. Diamond Head is the third Hawaii state park to require reservations. New Zealand and Australia Reopen to Tourism After a two-year closure due to the pandemic, New Zealand has reopened its borders to international tourists and cruise ships, as well as ended the requirement for pre-departure COVID-19 tests. visitors, and those from more than 50 countries, were allowed back into the country starting in May.
