t M8 The Lagoon Nebula is the summer's showpiece emission nebula and open cluster. FOV=50′ u M20 The Trifid Nebula needs dark sky and a nebula filter, or plenty of aperture. With a big enough telescope you'll see subtle colors, but they'll be the reverse of reality! FOV=35′ t M23 This open cluster is often ignored in favor of nearby gems, but it's a jewel in its own right. FOV=1° 10′ u M24 This star cloud contains many excellent sights, including the open cluster NGC 6603, the dark clouds Barnard 92 and 93, and the Caribou asterism (turn the page around to see the Caribou right-sideup).
