Surprise Visitor CHANGING COMA These fantastic, high-resolution views of the head of NEOWISE show changes in the coma over a 14-day period. Each image was recorded through a Ceravolo 300mm f/9 astrograph with an SBIG Aluma 694 camera from Anarchist Mountain in southern British Columbia, Canada. Note the yellowish coma early in the series, which shows multiple shells of dust left in the comet's wake that expand to become the striations seen in the broader dust tail. As dust production slowed, a fuzzy green coma took its place. 16 NOVEMBER 2 02 0 * SK Y & TELESCOPE July 11 July 13 (morning) July 18 July 19 L A NDSCAPE: JOSEPH CA RUANA; CO M A SERIES: DEBR A A ND PE TER CER AVOLO MILKY SCOOP Comet NEOWISE is seen traversing the southern extent of Ursa Major on July 22nd over the cliffs at Dwejra Bay, Malta, looking like an errant scoop of the Milky Way spilling out of the Big Dipper.
