What to expect when
expecting dinner guests

For those of us that like to entertain, hosting a party for
friends and family is a rewarding and wonderful experience.
Just imagine that warm feeling when your cohort of friends
and family are admiring your freshly cleaned kitchen (and
bathroom), enjoying a simple pot luck dinner. After the party,
toss your feet up and enjoy a job well done, confident in
knowing that nobody will be too critical (because everyone you
invited presumably loves you).
When having a business dinner the rules are different. You're
taking the opportunity to invite your business colleagues into
your home to entertain in a most personal way. This is the
perfect time to put your best foot forward to build deeper
bonds with other business professionals and show a more
personal side of yourself.
The key though, keep it simple. Don't try and do too much, don't
get stuck toiling over the stove when your job is joining your
guests for your party. Just because you are hosting this party in
your home, doesn't mean you should miss out.
Let's assume for the sake of this article that we're having a semiformal
party. You are expecting 10 guests and they are coming
right after work in business attire. The goal for the evening is
to introduce members of your team to the leadership of a new
business connection. Here are my top 5 tips for having the
perfect party (in no particular order).
