Panavision Opens Chicago Facility
Panavision has opened a 13,000-square-foot location in
Chicago to serve the growing number of productions in the
Midwest. The Fox series The Exorcist and APB are among the first
projects to utilize the facility.
"This new location allows Panavision to bring our support to
the vibrant filmmaking community in Chicago," says ASC associate
member Kim Snyder, CEO and president of Panavision. "We now
have 13 Panavision rental facilities throughout North America ready
to serve productions with world-class filmmaking technologies and
expertise."
Panavision Chicago is located within close proximity of Cinespace Chicago Film Studios, Chicago Studio City, and Essanay Studio
and Lighting Co.'s stages. The new facility offers full camera and lens
services, a lens projection room, a prep floor with five bays, a 900square-foot private prep room, easy dock access and a Panastore.
Sharon Walker, a Chicago native with 16 years of experience
with Panavision, serves as general manager of the new office and is
joined by a full team of experienced technicians and support personnel.

DigitalGlue Adds Atlanta Office
DigitalGlue - an equipment, integration and softwaredevelopment provider for the production and distribution of digital
video - has opened a studio office in Atlanta. With the new space,
DigitalGlue offers equipment demos, training,
virtual-reality services and
postproduction facilities,
expanding beyond the
company's traditional role in
broadcast contribution and
distribution.

features a large training and conference room equipped with a
102" interactive whiteboard/projection screen, 7.2 surround-soundaudio speaker system, and wireless HDMI connectivity. The offices
include a demo room featuring multiple Silverdraft supercomputers
for immersive VR, Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve, and 3D
animation. There is also a dedicated postproduction room for color
correction. The facility offers a location where production and post
professionals can work with solutions from Red Digital Cinema,
Silverdraft, Adobe, Harmonic, Blackmagic and more.
The new office is intended to serve as a multifaceted facility
for DigitalGlue customers and partners, as well as provide the opportunity for film and production experts to demo equipment for their
postproduction needs.

FuseFX Unveils L.A. Flagship
Visual-effects provider FuseFX has moved its headquarters to
a 27,000-square-foot facility in the Sherman Oaks area of Los Angeles. Comprising two contiguous free-standing structures, the new
site can accommodate the company's current 150-person Southern
California staff, and features scores of state-of-the-art visual-effects
workstations, four screening rooms, a 4K infrastructure, dedicated
broadband connections to operations in New York and Vancouver,
and room for further growth.
FuseFX was founded in 2006 by Emmy Award-winning
visual-effects supervisor David Altenau. The company developed a
proprietary workflow that enabled it to efficiently service multiple
television productions and drew on the area's deep pool of visualeffects talent.
The new facility features a 10-gigabit infrastructure capable
of managing 4K media and other large data files in real time. Its 15rack server room is designed for the easy expansion of storage and
rendering resources as needs grow. Sohonet broadband connections with FuseFX's production facilities in New York and Vancouver
will allow artists at the three sites to seamlessly share data and
resources. The site's four screening rooms include a 20-seat theater
equipped with 4K projection and monitoring systems. Space is available for more technical resources, including the possible addition of
4K color grading and finishing.
FuseFX's recent visual-effects credits include the series Agents
of S.H.I.E.L.D., Empire, Criminal Minds, Bones, The Blacklist, The
Magicians and Preacher. The company won an Emmy Award in
2015 for its work on American Horror Story. FuseFX also provides
visual effects for features and commercials, and the company
recently formed a virtual-reality division under the banner FuseVR.
