Dynamic Perspective Makes Moves
Dynamic Perspective has unveiled the XimeraX5, an ultralight 5-axis gyro-stabilized head. Designed from
the ground up to support a variety of cinema
and broadcast camera and lens options, the
XimeraX5 allows for changing payload in minimal rigging time, even in the field.
The XimeraX5 can supply up to six SDI channels (four 3G 4K, one 3G preview and one
genlock into the gimbal), as well as two fiber
channels for bidirectional camera-to-CCU communication. Additionally, a Gigabit Ethernet connection is provided.
The system offers compatibility via industry-standard mounts
for helicopters, gyrocopters, ultralight and light-sport aircraft,
drones, snowmobiles, cranes, cars, quads, boats, cable-cam systems
and more. Highlights of the XimeraX5 include sixth-axis emulation
for advanced look-down capability and hands-off auto-horizon, and
a touch-screen-enhanced operating panel with Soft-RCP functions
and SDI overlay. The gimbal transports in only two boxes, each
weighing below 71 pounds; no disassembly of the turret is required
for transportation.
The plug-and-play system rigs up quickly and is ready to fly
with minimal setup time. The XimeraX5 is compatible with most
FAA- and EASA-approved aircraft mounts, with no ITAR restrictions
or EAR licensing requirements. The system includes a small and lightweight junction box, and advanced fiber-optic gyro for ultra-low
noise and drift.
Key features also include an integrated 7.7" HD monitor
with zebra, histogram and waveform functions; an integrated
HD/UHD/4K SSD recorder; an integrated touchscreen for remote
control of cameras; intuitive menu controls, with options to save
customized setups for individual users; steerable, advanced auto
horizon; automatic reduction of joystick sensitivity
with zoom rate; display of absolute lens values;
control of ENG lens extender; SDI overlay; steering via integrated joystick, drift-knobs, external
devices or computer control; and
ergonomic FIZ control via an advanced
focus wheel.
Optional features include external
input for third-party devices, such as handwheels, joysticks
and focus-puller remotes; an Ethernet and wireless kit for remote
radio control of gimbal and integrated camera; and a control interface for timed and automated computer-controlled movements, for
applications such as motion control.

BB&S, The Light Bridge Offer CRLS
BB&S Lighting - makers of high-TLCI lighting fixtures including the Area 48, Pipelines and Force 7 Leko - are now representing
the Cine Reflect Lighting System from The Light Bridge.
Conceived by famed Austrian cinematographer Christian
Berger, AAC, BVK, the CRLS pairs proprietary high-efficiency reflectors with an optimized source light to make diffused light easier to

control and modulate. The CRLS produces a natural look by reflecting illumination from a light source that produces a concentrated
beam of light to approximate a ray produced by the sun.
At the heart of the system is the CRLS C-Reflector array,
which comes in four different levels of reflectivity ranging from minimum diffusion to maximum diffusion. The specially designed reflectors use a precision aluminum-coated, smoothly polished, wrinklefree surface that reflects up to 97 percent of the light hitting them,
with 100 percent color rendering. They are characteristically a spillfree light source, reducing the need for flags and frames. Made to
blend into any available-light situation, they come in five sizes:
7x7cm, 15x15cm, 25x25cm, 50x50cm, and 100x100cm. A variety
of kits and grip and mounting solutions are available.
While developing the system with Berger, The Light Bridge
strove to find the optimum source lights to pair with the reflectors,
and found that top-quality large-output lights including Fresnels,
PARs and ellipsoidals are all compatible. In particular, The Light Bridge
was impressed with the BB&S Force 7 LED Leko. Focusable without
double shadows or hot spots, the fixture's output is smooth and
even edge-to-edge. Equivalent to a 750-watt output, it draws just
185 watts at maximum output. With an external, yoke-mounted 48volt power supply, the Force 7 exhibits no color shift dimming all the
way to zero; with a compact footprint, it supports The Light Bridge's
"fit anywhere" philosophy.
The CRLS system has been successfully used on a multitude
of productions. For more information, visit www.thelightbridge.com
