Padcaster Smartens Up

Padcaster has introduced the Verse,
a simple, modular system that turns any
smartphone into a mobile video-production
tool.
The core of the Verse system is the
compact Verse Grip that allows the user to
securely lock in any smartphone with or
without a case. The three built-in cold shoes
are ideal for mounting microphones, lights
and other accessories.
The Verse product line also features
the Verse Cage, a military-grade aluminum
cage and mount that provides added functionality. The Verse Cage comes equipped
with an integrated dual tripod mount that
allows the device to attach to a tripod with
no additional hardware. The system gives
users the option to attach the Verse Grip
and smartphone inside the Cage, allowing
them to use the 12 standard
mounting threads around

FSI Adds 4K Reference Monitor
Flanders Scientific has unveiled the XM650U 65" UHD professional reference monitor, which has been designed for color-critical monitoring of 4K, UHD and HD signals.
Featuring the latest large-format OLED panel technology, the XM650U is well-equipped for
SDR content mastering as well as PQ and HLG HDR monitoring.
The XM650U features 4K-compatible waveform and vectorscope display. Additionally, users can choose from a wide assortment of standard markers and safety areas that
can be displayed as lines, translucent overlays, or solid overlays; lines and overlays have
selectable colors for instant customization.
The XM650U features 12Gbps SDI connections, which greatly simplify room design
by allowing you to feed 4K and UHD signals to the display over a single cable. Quad
1.5Gbps and 3Gbps SDI connectivity are also supported in both 2SI and Square Division
variations, ensuring compatibility with most types of 4K or UHD output. The XM650U
supports advanced 12-bit 4:4:4 YCbCr, RGB and XYZ signals.
This monitor also features the ability to provide a real-time downscaled HD-resolution output in addition to clean 12Gbps SDI loop-outs, allowing users to feed the XM650U
UHD signals while outputting HD to connected HD scopes or monitors without having to
rely on a standalone down-converter.
FSI monitors come pre-calibrated from the factory, and free recalibration is always
available for customers who would like to send their units in to an FSI service department.
Users can also quickly and easily perform their own 3D + 1D LUT-based calibration with
advanced color-management solutions including LightIllusion's LightSpace CMS or
SpectraCal's CalMAN.
