Cartoni Expands Support
Cartoni Rome and Cartoni USA have
unveiled a number of products and
upgrades.
Based on Cartoni's HiDV Fluid Head,
Smart Pro offers a variety of innovative
touches, including ergonomic knobs for
ease-of-use, better control and a more fluid
touch on drag and counterbalance. The
head is also equipped with such professional-grade features as a continuously variable fluid-drag system and Cartoni's "wing"
counterbalance system. The head's 75mmdiameter bowl is compatible with all 75mm
tripods as well as most current-generation
slider attachments.
The Focus HD fluid head, designed
for cameras up to 26 pounds, has been
further improved with ergonomic knobs for
precise counterbalance and tilt-drag control,
a complement to the head's continuously
variable fluid-damping system and patented
counterbalance. Focus HD comes packaged
with a new, state-of-the-art carbon-fiber
tripod that boasts a compact and lightweight design, and exceptional stability.
The latest addition to Cartoni's tripod
lineup, the carbon fiber Stabilo is an
extremely compact, lightweight, three-stage
tripod that folds up to a short 25". The
Stabilo can extend to a maximum height of
72", and offers a low range of 8.8". Stick
extension is secured by three rotating grips
that can be set to three different angles,
clearly indicated on each side of the leg

attachment with no need for a spreader.
Additionally, the Stabilo is equipped with a
standard 100mm bowl that can be downstepped to 75mm via a reduction ring. The
tripod can be matched with the Focus HD
for a total weight of only 11 pounds.
Cartoni also offers the Smart Stop
ENG tripod, which features a 100mm bowl
and an innovative two-stage rapid extension that can be operated by a single lever.
Weighing only 6.4 pounds, the tripod is
ideal for newsgathering.
Designed to support cameras up to
55 pounds, the E-Rem 25 remote-control
head offers extremely smooth, reliable and
silent operation on pedestals and tripods, or
underslung from cranes. The remote head
is equipped with simple modular electronics
and state-of-the-art gear mechanics. A variety of remote command options are available, including joystick, hand wheels and
fluid pan bar (with optional zoom and focus
implemented on the console).
Finally, Cartoni has introduced an
upgraded version of the classic Master MK
II fluid head. Improved features include a
patented counterbalance system that
enables perfect balance at any tilt angle
from 4.4 pounds to 66 pounds. Compact
and lightweight, the Master MK II is ideally
suited to the latest digital 35mm full-frame
camera systems and accessories. The head
comes with a flat Mitchell base that can be
converted to a 150mm bowl via an adapter.
It offers a tilt range of +/-90 degrees, and a
camera quick-release attachment that interfaces directly with Arri and Red camera
plates.

Sachtler Accessorizes Ace Line
Sachtler, part of Vitec Videocom, a
Vitec Group company, has introduced the
Ace Accessories line of camera-support
gear. The initial line of Ace Accessories
comprises the Ace Base Plate, Ace Follow
Focus and Ace Matte Box; the accessories
can be bought individually or as a package.
The height-adjustable Base Plate
provides the platform for attaching the
other two accessories to a tripod via industry-standard 15mm rods. The Follow Focus,
