Cinema Devices Enables
Antigravity
Motion-picture startup Cinema
Devices has introduced the Antigravity Rig, a
body-mounted suspension system for
camera gimbals. The patent-pending system
alleviates operator fatigue during extended
shots while holding heavy gimbal stabilization systems.
The Antigravity Rig allows a floor-toceiling boom range without counterweights
and is buoyant - providing a weightless
feel - throughout the entire range, with
complete motion isolation and elimination
of footsteps. It is easily configurable to a
narrow footprint in order to pass through
doorways or for large boom shots.

Bar Builds Mark 3 Stabilizer
Camera operator and equipment
developer Nir Bar has introduced the Mark 3
NB Stabilizer. In designing the system, Bar
explains, "I wanted it to be lightweight,
simple, modular, with [a] tough structure. It
needed to contain minimum components,
to be comfortable, silent, accurate, smooth
and, finally, to be able to fold into one box."
With a 3.1kg arm that is powered by
rubber bands, the NB Stabilizer can carry
any camera from a DSLR up to an Alexa.
Featuring minimal components, the Stabilizer is smooth and silent across its boom
range.
"The sled was also built to be tough
and simple, with [minimal] components,"
Bar adds. Featuring ample outputs to power
accessories, Bar notes that the sled is
"super-modular, can easily be assembled
and disassembled, [and operators can]
change and add components in no time."

Vinten Moves With
Hexagon Track
Vinten, a Vitec Videocom brand, has
unveiled the Hexagon Track System. The
system brings together two leaders in
production equipment by fully integrating
the Vinten Control System (VRC) with dollysystems manufacturer Tecnopoint for an
advanced robotic dolly system on tracks.
The Vinten Hexagon system features
fast setup and easy assembly with no cables
outside of the track, making it perfect for
both high-end news studios and outside
broadcast rental setups, such as concerts
and sporting events. The Hexagon Dolly's
motorized column and robotic head natively
interface with the Vinten control protocol
and can be fully managed from the Vinten
Control System. With a height of only

30mm (1.18") from the ground, the system
features a low-profile track design while
providing stable movement at the highest
level; the low profile of the Hexagon system
also minimizes the risk of tripping.
Featuring four traction wheels with
dual synchronized motors, the Hexagon
system boasts high-traction operation with
virtually no slipping. It also provides an
optional positioning belt for AR and VR.
The track position can be accurately
measured and sent to a graphics engine
so that the system can be used in an
augmented/virtual-reality environment.
The Vinten Hexagon Track System
powered by Tecnopoint enables flexible
configurations, including straight or curved
track shape, up to two dollies on one track
with collision avoidance, as well as the
option for either high-speed/low payload or
low-speed/high payload options.

Vinten now offers a complete solution including x-y and elevation-only
pedestals, track solutions, and head-only
systems, which can all be operated by the
same control system. This enables current
users of the Vinten Control System to integrate the Hexagon System as an alternative
to robotic pedestals or cranes.
