hand-stitched leather construction and
aluminum detailing, giving versatile positioning of rods through the pad for optimizing counterweight, camera balancing and

Panavision Updates Panascout
Panavision has released an updated
version of its Panascout application. Available for free on all mobile devices running
iOS, Android or Windows platforms,
Panascout features a wide range of intuitive
functions and a redesigned user interface to
make it easier to record and share images
and information with the entire creative
team.

Panascout now offers video capture
in Panaframe, a framing overlay that
displays a choice of aspect ratios from true
widescreen 2.40:1 (Anamorphic) to 1.85:1
(Super 35mm), 1.78:1 (16:9 HD), 1.33:1
(4:3) and custom. Metadata automatically
incorporates date/time, file name, focal
length, aspect ratio and any notes added by
the user, which can be saved to a folder or
the device's library. A "Map it" button
allows photos to be plotted on a map identifying the exact location where they were
taken. Additionally, by clicking the "P"
button, users can find contact information
for the closest Panavision office anywhere in
the world.
Additional features available via inapp purchase include video capture, folder
management, customization tools, additional image data, sharing capabilities,
zoom and prime lens controls, and audio
notes.

Chapman/Leonard Expands
Camera Supports
Chapman/Leonard has introduced
an array of new products, including the
Cobra and Hybrid IV dollies, and the Miniscope 5 and Miniscope 7 cranes.
The Cobra camera dolly is the
company's smallest dolly, with a footprint of
only 20". The Cobra features a center
pedestal column that accommodates a
payload capacity of 375 pounds. Easy to
balance, the Cobra is nitrogen-charged,
providing unlimited lifts.
The Hybrid IV incorporates round
steering to the standard crab and conventional steering modes, and has seven front
and five rear leg positions to choose from.
The new front leg position creates a more
compact dolly, which can be used on stanAmerican Cinematographer

dard track. The Hybrid IV has a payload
capacity of 700 pounds when engaging the
strut and will easily accommodate small
crane arms, such as the Miniscope 5.
The Miniscope 5 and Miniscope 7
are the latest additions to Chapman/
Leonard's line of telescoping cranes. Each
Miniscope is compact enough to be operated by one person, and both can be operated either electronically or manually. Both
Miniscopes offer a payload capacity of 150
pounds with a telescopic travel speed of
3.5' per second.

Silk, Vector
LEDs
Rosco Laboratories has introduced
the Silk 210 soft-light
LED fixture. Developed by David Amphlett,
Rosco's product-development
manager for broadcast lighting solutions,
the Silk 210 offers precise color quality and
powerful output in an efficient, ergonomic
form factor.
Suitable for lighting broadcast
studios, feature-film sets and existing locations, the lightweight Silk 210 features
broad-spectrum daylight- and tungstenbalanced LEDs, and is tunable from 2,800K6,500K. Independent tests have measured
the color quality of Silk
210 at a TLCI rating of
97, and a CRI of 98 at
3,500K. The portable
and versatile fixture
operates under mains
power and is also
compatible with Anton
Bauer or V-Lock batteries. Other features
include high output
(2,400 lux at 1 meter at
5,600K); smooth, flicker-free
dimming; DMX and local control;
and a wide range of available accessories.
Rosco has also unveiled the LitePad
Vector portable LED fixture. Creating the
