Keslow Camera Opens in Atlanta
Keslow Camera, a camera-equipment provider for motion picture, television
and commercial productions worldwide,
has expanded its operations to the
Midtown Atlanta area. The company recognized the need to support existing and
future clients working in that area with a
full-service facility, and the Midtown location was carefully selected for its many
amenities and 20-minute proximity to the
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International
Airport.
"Keslow Camera was, from the
start, built to make our customers' needs
our number-one priority," says company
founder and CEO Robert Keslow, an ASC
associate member. "With this expansion to
Atlanta, we're bringing the same high-level
service our clients have grown accustomed
to."
Keslow Camera's Atlanta workplace
has been designed with architects from
Abramson Teiger Architects, the same
creative team that planned the company's
Los Angeles headquarters. Housing skilled
technicians from Atlanta's strong talent
pool, the 8,200-square-foot facility will
provide various prep bays, including a
private test room, and a fully equipped
service department.

Tiffen Adds Filters, Opens
Technical Center
The Tiffen Co. has introduced three
new Black Diffusion filters: Black GlimmerGlass, Black Pearlescent and Black Soft/FX.
The Black GlimmerGlass filter offers
the same beauty-enhancing qualities as the
original GlimmerGlass filter but with more
subtlety. It softens fine details by adding a
mild glow to highlights, removes harsh
sharpness from modern lenses, and adds an
overall blending to contrast levels.
Pearlescent filters create a subtle

look by softening excess sharpness and
contrast. Designed with its original Pearlescent predecessor in mind, the Black Pearlescent filter adds a crisp halo to spectacular
highlights and gently softens the image
with a smooth glow.
Soft/FX filters use a pattern of tiny
"lenslets" to put fine image elements such
as wrinkles and blemishes out of focus
while sharpening larger details. The Black
Soft/FX filter adds a special touch by giving
images a continuous softening effect with
increasing atmospheric haze.
The Tiffen Co. has also opened the
doors of the new Tiffen Technical Center in
Burbank. In addition to housing the
Steadicam and Lowel Light worldwide
design and manufacturing operations, the
facility serves as a walk-in site for Steadicam
stabilizer and Lowel light service. The Technical Center also incorporates the Tiffen
Customer Experience Center that features
Tiffen's range of digital-imaging accessories:
Steadicam camera stabilizers, Tiffen filters,
Lowel lights, Dfx digital-effects software,
Domke camera bags, Listec teleprompters
and Davis & Sanford tripods. The Customer
Experience Center is designed to provide
customers with hands-on experience with

Matthews Increases
Mounting Options
Matthews Studio Equipment's
Burbank manufacturing facility has rolled
out the RickyRods and Freedom Car Mount
mounting systems for a wide range of
shooting applications.
RickyRods, which are available in
10" increments that can be screwed
together with 3⁄8" steel threads and female
plugs, are compatible with other 5⁄8"
rigging hardware. "Originally designed as
support for car-mount rigging, we've found
they are easy - and fast - for a wide variety of applications," says Robert Kulesh,
vice president of sales and marketing at
MSE. He adds that the rods "cut down on
wasted time on a shoot by cutting out the
need to cut tubes to desired lengths for various uses."

The Freedom Car Mount system,
Kulesh explains, incorporates "a 360degree rotating grip head that is secured to
[the] foundation with a 10-inch vacuum
cup, cheese plate and MSE's RickyRods. The
swivel head easily slides across two of the
RickyRods for easy positioning." The setup
also allows for a 90-degree swivel. The standard hole pattern of the camera plate
allows for mounting of a dovetail plate or
the direct mounting of a camera.
MSE has created a complete Freedom Car Mount System kit that includes
right-angle adapters for more flexibility.
The large T-handle quickly and easily
secures both the head and the opposite
receiver simultaneously. Vacuum cups, grip
heads and quick struts are also part of the
package.
