Fujinon Ships 4K Zoom
The Optical Devices Division of Fujifilm North America Corp. has begun shipping the first lenses in its 4K Ultra HD Series,
including the UA22x8 portable zoom.
With a compact and lightweight
design, a 22x zoom ratio and a focal length
from 8mm in wide angle to 176mm in telephoto, the UA22x8 utilizes optical simulation technology to achieve its 22x zoom
and advanced optical performance. Its
floating focus system controls multiple lens

groups according to the shooting distance
and delivers high image quality and highcontrast images from close-up to infinity. It
comes standard with a 16-bit encoder
capable of high-resolution output of lens
data, such as zoom and focal position information. Zoom and focus position data is
divided in 16-bit resolution and output as
electric signals. This lens can also be linked
with other systems like virtual studio
systems when combining CG images with
live-action footage.

F&V Enhances Ring Light
With UltraColor
F&V has introduced the Z720 UltraColor LED Ring Light, which boasts a high
TLCI of 95 +/-1 and a beam angle of 60
degrees, and is available in daylight and bicolor models.
The latest addition to F&V's UltraColor LED series, the Z720 features a
290mm opening that allows it to be used
with any size cinema lens. The fixture incorporates mounting options for 15mm lightweight support rods and 19mm studio
rods, and a 5⁄8" mounting option allows the
fixture to be attached to a stand.
Due to its large size, the Z720 evenly
wraps around the talent's face while also
providing an eye-light effect. Additionally,
110

the Z720 is broken into four quadrants; the
intensity and color temperature of each
quadrant can be controlled independently.
In addition to a ring light, the Z720
can be positioned off-camera as a standalone LED fixture. A soft-box accessory
allows users to shape and soften the light
for a variety of applications. The Z720 can
be powered by two NP-F Li-ion batteries.

CamBlock Furthers
Motion-Control Options
CamBlock has introduced the
CamBlock Modular 2.0, a fully featured,
portable motion-control camera system for
larger cinema cameras and extreme rugged
use. With a stronger, smoother and faster
servomotor drive train than the original
CamBlock Modular, the Modular 2.0 can
handle rigs up to 25 pounds while remaining backwards compatible with the original
Modular as well as the new CamBlock
Adventure system.
The company has also introduced
the CamBlock Adventure. Designed for
small- to medium-sized cameras, the
CamBlock Adventure features Heden
motor compatibility, third-party joystick
compatibility, and advanced interleaved
multi-time-lapse. With all three axes (pan,
tilt and dolly) built into a single compact
American Cinematographer

unit that can be controlled from a wireless
mobile device, the Adventure is smaller,
lighter and more portable than the Modular
systems. The Adventure also features a tilt
mechanism that allows for a high degree of
nodal tilt without the need for a bulky side
support. Other features include an expandable track system, built-in camera trigger
and Wi-Fi control with an Android app.
