Hexolux Introduces LED
Upgrade Kit
Hexolux has announced the availability of its NLYTYN EGT drop-in LED
upgrade. The $750 kit (single unit price)
upgrades an existing Mole, Arri or Desisti 1K
halogen Fresnel fixture to a high-performance daylight-color-temperature LED
instrument in only two minutes. The
upgraded light draws only 150 watts and
supports standard external dimmers, requiring no change to infrastructure or workflow.
The NLYTYN EGT drop-in kit consists
of an aspheric diffractive lens that replaces
the unit's glass lens, and an LED module
that replaces the EGT halogen bulb of the
upgraded Fresnel. The light can be focused
from 15 to 60 degrees using the fixture's
existing mechanism; spotted down, the LED
fixture projects 580 foot candles at 10'. The
LED also boasts a high CRI of 95.

Cineo Strikes Matchstix
Cineo Lighting and Litegear have
partnered to develop the Matchstix series of
small, versatile Remote Phosphor light
sources. A standard coaxial DC power
connector permits the use of a large variety
of power-supply options, including many
batteries; Matchstix operate with any DC
power source from 11.5 to 16 VDC. Matchstix are optimized for flawless, flicker-free
control with Litegear Litedimmers.
Measuring only 35mm wide, Matchstix are available in 3", 6" and 12" lengths

and are surprisingly bright for their size.
Available in all Cineo color temperatures,
the color quality perfectly matches all other
Cineo soft lights. The back of each Matchstix fixture features a standard cold-shoe
slot, enabling an array of mounting options.

portable Maverick fixture, which
provides all of the

of
Remote Phosphor Technology
found in Cineo's
TruColor HS and
LS while better
meeting

demands of field use. The DC-powered
Maverick delivers a volume of light equal to

Maverick boasts an extended CRI over 95
and the same 160-degree beam spread

Digital Sputnik Takes Flight
Digital Sputnik has launched the
drone-mountable DS LED Light Heli System,
which enables a small drone to carry a lightweight LED with an output equivalent to a
1.5K HMI. Used in conjunction with Intuitive
American Cinematographer

Aerial's Black Armored Drone, the DS LED
Light System boasts exceptional output and
flexibility in aerial lighting. The system is
controllable over Wi-Fi with an iOS app.
The DS LED Heli System is based on
Digital Sputnik's DS LED Light System. The
light heads are universal and compatible
with the DS LED System and DS Mürsik
Frames. The ideology behind the DS LED
System is to offer more creative freedom by
making lighting flexible and mobile without
compromising output or quality.
The DS LED Light System offers an
array of features, including a power supply
for as many as three LED light modules
controllable separately or in groups, three
LED light modules with RGBW-power LEDs
(tunable from 1,500K-10,000K with the
option to adjust +/- green tint) or Daylight
White LEDs, and a variety of lenses and

Chimera Offers Control
Chimera has introduced No-Frame
Lightbanks that attach to a number of 1'x1'
or 1'x2' LED units from Creamsource,
Dracast, F&V, Flolight, Limelite, Litepanels,
Visual Buddha and Zabolight by using elastic
straps that wrap around the back corners of
the fixture. The looped straps further hold
the unit by wrapping around the yoke
tension knobs. The front Lens Screen
attaches with hook-and-loop material,
mating the material around the front
perimeter of the Lightbank. The 30-degree
front Lens Screen focuses the LEDs into one
light source to eliminate multiple shadows.
