the answer.
The strength of
the. answer lies in the society's
achIevements, as its value as an
organization rests in its designs
its ambition, its ideals.

This naturally leads to the
very interesting reviews of the
history of many of the great societies instituted for the encouragement and development
of the arts.
Who can question the influence of the Royal Academy on
British Art; nor can we help
but envy its members their
great pride in being able to inscribe their names in the same
distinguished register with such
historic names as Sir Joshua
Reynoltls- and hrs- contempore
aries.
And who would dare
ridicule the feelings of exultation in the breast of a zealous
aspirant on receiving notification of his election to our own
National Academy; who can
deny him his self-esteem at becoming the acknowledged associate of George Innes, Thomas
Moran and other great masters.

Visited San Francisco in
the Interests of
Pictures
On the third of March Arthur
Edeson representing the A. S.
C. accompanied the party of motion picture producers and stars
who journeyed to San Francisco
to be the guests of the Theatre
Owner's Association of Northern California.
These representatives
were
enthusiastically
received and
sumptuously entertained by prominent citizens, the regulation
auto rides, luncheons, dinners
and ball being the expression of
welcome, as well as the attention from the crowds who were
satisfied to see from the outside.
At the Press Club luncheon
on Saturday, Eugene Roth of
the California Theatre acted as

were made by Hobart Bosworth,
Harry Carey, William Carleton,
Clara Kimball Young and Judge
Golden of San Francisco. The
main topic was cooperation between San Francisco and Los
Angeles in the present fight being waged by the industry
against the censorship and local
Blue Sunday Laws.
