| How to see the microphone before it gets into the shot. 674 The NPR's reflex viewfinder lets you see what's in the shot and what's all around it. The aperture is outlined on the groundglass. Only what's inside that rectangle is recorded on the film. Being able to see what is happening just off screen has saved time, scenes, even whole assignments for NPR users. It's one of the reasons why this camera pays for itself more quickly than most. Older 16mm reflex designs place the groundglass up at the viewfinder eyepiece - a hazardous position. The NPR's groundglass Mi is mounted rigidly right at the aperture, in the heart of the camera body. Because its accuracy doesn't depend on alignment of the eyepiece, the NPR's viewing system is the most precise and reliable in the industry. The aperture outline tells you exactly what you're getting. You see about 15% more than the film does above and below the outline, and about 60% more at the sides. And you really see it.
