cast in color for the first time. This
huge amount of equipment was trucked
from F&B/CECO's New York lighting
rental department in several forty-foot
trailers.
Undoubtedly one of the largest and
most complex lighting installations of
recent years, the F&B/CECO gear was
slated for the Democratic National
Convention in Chicago immediately
after the Miami completion, followed
by the lighting of Atlantic City's Con¬
vention Hall for the annual color net¬
work telecast of the Miss America
Pageant.
Within the last few years, F&B/
CECO has suppl'ed lighls and gener¬
ators for New York's Yankee Stadium
when Pope Paul visited in 1966, and
more recently, furnished the lights for
the color TV coverage of the late Rob¬
ert F. Kennedy's Memorial Mass in
New York's St. Patrick's Cathedral.
All of this is in addition to regularly
supplying feature fi'ms be:ng shot on
location, with all their lighting, cam¬
era and sound rental requirements.

San Francisco
Groot Productions and Patterson &
Hall have formed "The Film Works,"
San Francisco's newest and possibly
most
complete
establishment
for
"source-in-depth" creative film pro¬
duction for television, business and

David C. Groot, Executive Producer
of the new film studio, who was for¬
merly associated with Saul Bass & As¬
sociates, SPI Television and Fraser
Productions, brought with him a talent¬
ed contingent of production coordina¬
tors, editors and writers. Patterson &
Hall, San Francisco's original graphic
design and photography studio, con¬
tributes the services of four photogra¬
phers and twelve designers.
"With the talent at our disposal in
all areas of graphics," Groot said,
"we have the most imaginative film
production capability in San Francis¬
co, and will use the best production
techniques, equipment and facilities
available both in San Francisco and
Hollywood, assuring our clients of the
finest film work possible."
Recently produced have been sales
films for Kingwood Estates and Syntex
Laboratories, and television spots for
AC Transit, The Sea Ranch, Harrah's
Club and Triumph Motors. ■
