the other lamps which have failed
which indicate that these problems are
any more than two extreme cases. In
fact, in a test now being conducted by
CBS-TV on the "Ed Sullivan Show"
over 30 lamps have operated at a
slightly reduced voltage for over 500
hours with only one lamp failure.

These lamps definitely appear to be
functioning as expected. We now ap¬
pear to have solved all problems in
the development of a 10,000 watt
lamp and will be supplying such lamps
for your use in September.
To date I feel that this test, which
you in association with the ASC are
conducting for us, has been very bene¬
ficial. It would be impossible for Sylvania to ever duplicate in our labora¬
tories all of the conditions found in a
film studio. The practical experience
which is being gained from this test
is invaluable to us in the development
of these lamps. Again I wish to thank
you and the ASC for making this test
possible.
