Motion Control Boom
Apogee Productions announces
the creation of GraphLite, a new highly
advanced motion control boom. Mechani¬
cal effects designer Michael Sorensen,
and composites engineer Bruce Donellan
answered the challenge from Apogee's
Research and Development Division to
produce
a boom with real time motion
capabilities. The sophisticated
design, which utilizes graphite epoxy
construction normally used in aerospace,
yachts and racing cars, results in a vastly
improved system.
Sorensen took advantage of
recent improvements in "harmonic drive"
control
It does
everything a little better
than its predecessor.
Which is saying a lot.
The new Cooke 18-100mm zoom is fast on its way to becoming the

the Cooke 20-100mm zoom-perhaps cinematography's most widely
