screen, full-motion video to be stored and
accessed from hard disk drives. The accel¬
erator is designed for expansion and is

upgradeable and scalable in performance
through the addition of modules to the
system's standard H-Bus. In addition to al¬
lowing current and future compression
technologies to be added, this bus structure
allows specialized options for use in the
video editing and production process to be
added as needed. Stereo audio information
can be simultaneously digitized and stored
with the video data, eliminating the need
for a separate audio interface.

nology allows computer-generated graphic
images to be mixed with video to create
flicker-free presentations and animations
that can be displayed or output to standard
