Desktop Disk Recorder
Accom and Silicon Graphics
have introduced their Work Station Disk, a

desktop real-time disk recorder for com¬
puter graphics and animation applications.
It features a proprietary interface between
the WSD and the Iris Indigo RISC PC, tak¬
ing advantage of the fast GIO bus to elimi¬
nate bi-directional image transfer speed
barriers.

The WSD provides 32 seconds of
uncompressed 4:2:2 component digital
video storage capacity, conforming to the
CCIR 601 standard, and can operate in both
the 525- and 625-line standards. As

Chapman's Western Dolly can
be equipped with an electronic valve actua¬
tor (EVA) for the remote operation of the
hydraulic arm. The maximum standard cam¬
era lens height is 9' and the lifting capacity
is 785 lbs. Vertical travel of the arm is 5'.
