For some shots we did a long-lens pull

background," says Clark. The equipment
package included a Panastar camera and
Primo's 11:1 and 3:1 zooms in conjunc¬
tion with Primo close-focusing 27mm,
35mm, and 50mm primes.
Clark incorporated a handheld
element, using an Aaton 35mm Mark II
camera to capture close-up elements of
faces and monitors. "We basically just
kept shooting the same scene in differ¬
ent ways, using different cameras and
lenses," says Clark, who used Aaton's 35

the scene with no lighting except com¬
puter monitors and intermittent lightning
plunge them into blackness, to create an
impressionistic collage look," says Clark.
Clark did have one pre-lighting
day, but this was primarily to decide on
specifics for a second MCI spot that was
being filmed on the ground floor of the
building.
"By shooting two spots simul¬

too," offers Clark. "Because we shot the

That bought the time to do the cable run
up to the 27th floor by the time we
needed it. It was actually a very efficient
way to shoot." The crew
