We also appreciate the support and representation of the Executive
Board through Kirsten Kennedy, the ACUHO-I Knowledge Enhancement Director. Denise Davidson's students in the College Student
Affairs program at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania worked
diligently to review manuscripts and create meaningful discussion
questions for readers. Christine Freeman, copy editor for this edition,
provides critical expertise and support in finalizing the publication.
Camille Perlman from the ACUHO-I Home Office works diligently to
ensure a quality process and product for readers. Ellen Gray's graphic
design work is an essential final stage for publication.
Mid-term week recently passed on my campus, and the stress and
anxiety in the air is quite palpable. Sometimes students skip classes
to prepare for others or may feel so overwhelmed they simply stop
engaging. While our faculty and academic partners may notice and
offer support or resources to students, we-as housing staff-see the
depths and magnitude of the issues our residents face. We see them
daily (or don't) and become a first line of support and connection
during these difficult times. The responsibility is great and can often
be challenging and exhausting, yet also very rewarding. Remember
to take time for yourself and recognize your own well-being without
shame or guilt. As the semester comes to a close, reflect on all the
things you have accomplished, and recharge for the semester ahead.
