re f l e c T i o n s The China Study Tour and Global Housing Summit were exceptional professional development experiences. The opportunity to visit so many different colleges and universities, student affairs professionals, and students on mainland China and in Hong Kong was incredible. I learned so much from the people that I met – it broadened my perspective, provided me with new insight, and completely altered the way I work with international students on my campus. In addition, the contacts I made and the networks that have been built are invaluable. Since returning to Oberlin, my staff and I have been working on ways to improve the services we provide to international students, educating our housing staff about being aware of cultural difference and reaching out to those in our division and across campus to share this experience and our work.
