welCome nEW MEMBER highlight The University of Greenwich Primary Contact: Jonathan Chandler The University of Greenwich operates from three campuses in the South East of London, one of which is the Old Royal Naval College, a World Heritage Site on the banks of the Thames, designed by Christopher Wren and in use since the late 17th century. The university has a number of halls of residence — most of which are partnership arrangements with different private companies — and which provide over 2,500 beds on campus (the vast majority of which are single study-bedrooms with en-suite bathroom facilities and shared kitchens for self-catering) for a student population of over 20,000. One of the most attractive and most idiosyncratic is Devonport House, itself once part of the old Greenwich Hospital, a renovated and refurbished building for 125 postgraduate and mature students that contains a mix of very individual rooms, some of which are split-level and very popular with students.
