E. Thayne King is the new assistant director of auxiliary services/housing. Previously, he was director of residence life at Texas A&M University in Commerce. Thayne served as ACUHO-I Southern District Representative on the Executive Board from 2003 to 2005 and as chair of the ACUHO-I Membership Committee from 2006 to 2008. He was the SWACUHO Trustee on the ACUHO-I Foundation Board from 2007 to 2009. He holds a bachelor’s in business with majors in management and marketing and a master’s in education with a major in student personnel work in higher education, both from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.

Dr. Doug Zatechka retired from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in December 2010 after a 45-year career in university housing, including 34 years at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as director and 11 years before that with the residence hall program at Michigan State in East Lansing. Zatechka is the only non-faculty person ever to receive the Louise Pound/George Howard Award for exemplary service to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Career highlights include various partnerships with UNL’s academic affairs resulting in highly successful learning communities and residential honors programs. In addition, Zatechka led the development of the 16-year housing facilities master plan. Projects completed since work began in 2003 include the total renovation of six traditional residence halls, renovation of three dining centers, and construction of three large apartment-style halls.

He also served as the assistant director of business services and facilities management at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Bridgeforth holds a master’s in higher education administration/ student affairs management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Southern Mississippi in higher education administration and educational research. Alan Wullschleger has been promoted to facilities coordinator. Jade G. Matthews is the new residence life coordinator. Lauren Gulsby is a new area coordinator. Travis R. Hardin is a new community director. Amber King is a new community director. Christina Reyes is a new community director. Owen Gates is a new assistant community director.

Kathleen Baker is the new director of housing and residence life. Adam-Jon Aparicio is a new residence hall director. Monique Cribbs is a new residence hall director. Nathan Panello is a new residence hall director. Dustin Grabsch is a new assistant residence hall director. Christina Shapland is a new assistant residence hall director.

The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Larry Perez is the new director of housing and residential life. Prior to joining AIFL, he served in numerous positions in higher education at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts; Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York; Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey; and the University of San Diego in California. He received a master’s degree in education from the University of San Diego and his bachelor’s from the University of Illinois.
