Dates You Need to Know
Mark your calendars, and stay on top of all the latest happenings. Information on these and all other ACUHO-I initiatives is online at www. acuho-i.org. The Placement Exchange: This event will be held March 13-17, 2013, in Orlando, Florida. James C. Grimm National Housing Training Institute: Interested participants in the 2013 event are encouraged to submit their applications now. The event, held June 4-8 at the University of Georgia, is geared toward professionals with three to five years of experience. ACUHO-I Housing Internship Program: The application deadline for both hosts and interns is January 7, 2013. Host sites can begin to contact potential interns on January 18 at noon (Eastern), interviews will begin on January 22, and offers can be made on February 18 at noon.
Board Election 2013
Be sure your institution casts its ballot to help shape the future of ACUHO-I leadership. Five positions are open this year: the Vice President position as well as the Globalization Director, the Inclusion and Equity Director, the Residence Education Director, and the Regional Affiliations Director. Nominations are being accepted through January 10. Official voting will then be open February 4-15. The background on the offices and qualifications of the different candidates will be available via the ACUHO-I website, and information on how to cast a vote will be emailed to the primary contact at each member institution. Even if you are not the primary contact for your institution, please help make sure we get as many campuses to vote as possible.
GLACUHO Members Visit Central Office
Making the most of their time in Columbus, Ohio, members from the Great Lakes Association of College and University Housing Officers (GLACUHO) took time to visit the ACUHO-I central office on November 7, 2012, after attending their annual conference in downtown Columbus. They enjoyed meeting staff and guided tours of the office. The visiting institutions and company were Central Michigan University, Indiana University, Lake Forest College, Milliken University, Northern Illinois University, Northwestern University, The Brill Company, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and Western Michigan.
