OCM Launches New
Award Program
On Campus Marketing (OCM), the company
most known for helping campuses deliver
linens and care packages to their students,
has introduced a new giveaway. IIn 2014
the company, based in Chambersburg,
Pennsylvania, will present four separate
campuses with a $25,000 contribution to
the school's general scholarship fund.
"Serving students is the entire reason
why On Campus Marketing exists," says
company President Andrew McDade. "With
the rising costs of higher education we
thought this was the best way to express our
thanks to the students as well as our campus
partners."
To be entered in the OCMCHO Student Scholarship
Award Program,
campuses must complete
the contracting process
with OCM and approve
marketing materials ahead
of the scheduled deadline.

Campuses must then
produce an additional marketing piece and/
or place an ordering link on their website
and then complete the process by providing
OCM with mailing addresses immediately
following the enrollment deadline.
Campuses that complete the process as
well as a participation confirmation form
will be entered into the random drawing.
Winners will be announced during the 2014
ACUHO-I Annual Conference & Exposition
in Washington, D.C., June 28-July 1.

Cost: $59 million

The University of Tennessee will be building a residence hall that will
accommodate 700 undergraduate students in two-person and fourperson suites, their first new residence hall in 40 years. Suites will come
furnished with office furniture, beds, and dressers. Additional amenities
include refrigerators in each suite, student lounges, community space,
on-site laundry, and recreation and fitness rooms. Two restaurants within
the residence hall will accommodate indoor and outdoor seating.

university of richmond

Richmond, Virginia
Projected Opening: Summer 2014

Cost: $34 million

The University of Richmond is building two new residence halls, not in
order to expand but to improve the quality of housing and provide more
square footage per student. One building will feature suite-style living
and will house 150 students. The other building will feature individual
apartments, housing four residents each in private bedrooms. Both
residence halls will focus on positive effects on student life, particularly
by incorporating a third space, which is separate from where students
sleep and study.

louisiana State university

Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Projected Opening: Fall 2015

Cost: $24.6 million

Construction has begun for a new residence hall, tentatively named
Cypress Hall, for 330 Louisiana State University students. Cypress
Hall will mark their first energy efficient and environmentally friendly
residence hall. Eco-friendly features include water collection systems
and energy-efficient mechanics. For students, amenities include electric
car charging stations, interior bike storage rooms, two large indoor
classrooms, and several outdoor study spaces.

George Mason university

Fairfax, Virginia
Projected Opening: July 2014

Is there a new product or service that is so

George Mason University's new residence hall will house first-year
students in a 68,500-square-foot facility, with an occupancy of 295
students. The building will be adjacent to the dining hall and will
include WiFi, bike racks, an outdoor plaza, and study and social lounges
on each floor.
