Executive Board Election Results
Four new individuals have been elected to the 2016 ACUHO-I Executive Board.
These individuals will serve two- or three-year terms, beginning on January 1,

Presidential Service Award Winners
This year's Presidential Service Award winners, selected
by the ACUHO-I president, were announced at the
Annual Conference & Exposition. This award recognizes
individuals and institutions who have made a lasting
impact on ACUHO-I and the campus housing profession.
The winners of this award epitomize the spirit of a
volunteer-driven association. They have given willingly of
their time and expertise with the simple goal of improving
the profession as well as their professional home.

Membership Structure
Voting Results
During ACUHO-I's Annual Business Meeting at the
Annual Conference in Seattle, Washington, the ACUHO-I
membership was asked to approve amendments to
ACUHO-I's Constitution to allow for an updated
membership structure that will give each member
institution the ability to include all campus-based housing
and residence life professionals with a single campus
focus on their membership rosters. After a thoughtful
debate and discussion, more than two-thirds of members
casting ballots voted in favor of the proposed changes.
This updated structure allows each ACUHO-I
member institution, at the discretion of the highest
ranking university-employed individual with direct
housing authority, to add individuals to their membership
rosters who may be employed by private companies or
departments that have a formal local affiliation with the
institution. A more inclusive membership structure
supports the goals outlined in the new strategic plan
and allows the association to expand opportunities for
engagement, connections, education, and sharing of
resources to new areas of the profession.
Over the coming months, ACUHO-I will work to put
together a more detailed implementation strategy and
will formalize the changes to our legal documents needed
to reflect the new membership structure. We will be
sharing additional information and updates and a more
formalized plan and process for implementation soon.
Thank you to all of the volunteer leaders who worked
so thoughtfully and diligently to evaluate the current
membership structure, scan the environment of our
profession, and formulate this recommendation.
