YOUR ACUHO-I
Mid-Level Leadership Institute
The 2019 Mid-Level Leadership
Institute will take place April 8-11
at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino,
located right on Las Vegas Boulevard (a.k.a. 'The Strip').
This unique event will bring together mid-level leaders for three
full days of intensive learning,
engagement, reflection, and networking customized for residence
life and housing professionals
who fulfill diverse, critical roles
that operate in between entry-level
and senior-level capacities.
The Institute will address a
series of broad topic areas and
will be steered by expert speakers
and facilitators from within and
beyond housing and residence life
who will lead participants through
the content and its application to
mid-level roles. Two consultantsin-residence will be on site for the
duration of the Institute to offer
small group and individualized
consultation and discussion for
participants.
Registration is limited to 45 participants, and spaces will be offered
on a first-come, first-served basis.

sorority housing community.
Christopher A. Carter is the new residential learning coordinator/academic
associate for Lee Wicker Hall.
Nathan Bentley has been hired as community director for Stokes Hall.
Brynn Bowden has been hired as
community director for the Epsilon
community.
Lauren Gulsby has been promoted to
associate director for housing operations.
Hailey Holke has been hired as a coordinator of residence education.
Heath Marker has been hired as community director for Azalea Hall.
Lauren McAnally has been hired as the
assistant manager for housing business operations.
Christina Reyes has been hired as the
assistant director for housing.

In Memoriam
Judy Spain, former director of university housing at the University of
Wisconsin-Stout, first female president of UMR-ACUHO, and longtime
ACUHO-I member, passed away on October 25, 2018. At UMR-ACUHO,
Spain was awarded the William B. Sweet Distinguished Service Award in
1989. At ACUHO-I, she was awarded the James C. Grimm Leadership
and Service Award in 1992 and the ACUHO-I Award in 1997. In 2001
at ACUHO-I, the Judy Spain Award was created in her name to acknowledge her mentorship within the field for the LBGT community. Spain
was also a dedicated mentor to students in the profession and therefore
strongly engaged with NACURH.
