Exprodat Improves Tool For Calculating Reserves

GREENWOOD, CO.-Exprodat has
released a new version of Unconventionals Analyst, an ArcGIS extension
that allows oil and gas companies to
estimate reserves and optimize well
patterns throughout the life of an unconventional oil and gas development.
Unconventionals Analyst version
221, which supports the latest ArcGIS
10.3 release, includes enhanced support
for the Society of Petroleum Evaluation
Engineers' Monograph 3 geostatistical
reserves analysis, Exprodat reports.
Such analysis, the company points out,
is designed to determine a resource
play's undeveloped areas that could be

considered proved.
The new features mean that users of
Unconventionals Analyst can run multiple iterations of the complex Monograph 3 workflow, easily create proved
area polygons, repeat runs using the
same anchor wells as a previous calculation, and create a final heat map view
of overlap areas, Exprodat reports.

Software Speeds Process
Of Planning Pads, Laterals

HOUSTON-Geographic information
consultant Integrated Informatics Inc. has
introduced Geomancy Decision Engine 2.7,
a decision support system the company says
offers a comprehensive, holistic methodology for planning and siting well laterals,
well pads, pipelines, and access roads for
unconventional field development.
According to the company, the software is designed to optimize facility
placement and reduce costs while honoring the complexities of environmental
impacts, regulatory requirements, and
scheduling and development time. The
new version introduces enhancements to
existing capabilities, including reporting
on well pad siting impact, transmission
pipeline planning and reporting, and siting well laterals within large leases.

Schlumberger Surveys Gulf To Illuminate Subsalt Plays
HOUSTON-Schlumberger has acquired 1,708 square miles of two new
full-azimuth multiclient seismic surveys
over the Gulf of Mexico's Garden Banks
and Green Canyon areas.
The acquisitions are the initial phase of
the Revolution X and Revolution XI surveys, and will provide full-azimuth, highdensity broadband data to optimize
operational decisions, Schlumberger says.
"The new exploration investments will
enable customers to make better-informed,
strategic decisions during exploration as
well as field development and production," says Maurice Nessim, Schlum-

berger's president of petrotechnical services. "These high-density broadband surveys will deliver critical information that
can help reduce drilling risks and support
future 4-D reservoir monitoring."
When complete, Schlumberger says
the Revolution X and Revolution XI surveys will provide 2,360 square miles and
1,825 square miles of 3-D data, respectively, for suprasalt and subsalt targets,
and deeper subsalt Miocene and Wilcox
formations.
