New Service Provides Way
To Gather Downhole Data

HOUSTON-To help maximize well
production and the success rate of coiled
tubing interventions, Halliburton Production Solutions has introduced CoilComm.
According to the company, by measuring depth correlation and temperature
profiles in a single trip down the wellbore,
the CoilComm service allows operators
to identify which producing zones are
benefitting from stimulation treatments
and which are being bypassed. For jetting
and underbalanced operations, the service
monitors critical downhole data to maintain
the coiled tubing and tools within their
safe operating envelopes, Halliburton adds.
The company describes CoilComm as
a more efficient and economical method
of continuously monitoring horizontal or
highly deviated wells, explaining that the
service installs the fiber optics inside
coiled tubing.
"The CoilComm service offers distributed temperature sensing and downhole
data acquisition capabilities with a system
temperature rating of 350 degrees Fahrenheit, higher than competing services,"
reports Production Solutions Vice President Tommy Roth.

National Harbor, Md., will host the Oil
& Gas Public Relations and New Media
Conference to give communications executives from oil and gas companies and
associations a chance to learn from and
network with experts in the fields of

Legacy Expands Offering By Buying Pelagic Tank

ADDISON, TX.-Legacy Measurement
Solutions Inc. has reached an agreement
to acquire Pelagic Tank LLC. Legacy
adds that it is divesting certain assets relating to its gas analysis, chart interpretation, and field service business to Gas
Analytical Services Inc., a subsidiary of
CriticalControl Solutions Corp.
"The addition of Pelagic Tank broadens
our product offering of measurement,
production and process solutions to better
meet the needs of our customers in the
oil and gas industry," says Drew Ladau,
Legacy's president and chief executive
officer. "As we shift our strategic focus
to increasingly complex equipment solutions, the divestiture of our gas analysis,
chart interpretation, and field services
