Paradigm® Extends Geolog® Deeper Into Well Life Cycle
HOUSTON-Paradigm® Geolog® 7.4,
the latest version of Paradigm's formation
evaluation software suite, offers rich engineering functionalities that expand the
product's reach to wells deep into production. The company adds that the
release extends third-party connectivity,
including support for Petrel 2015, enabling
users to bring the power of Geolog into
workflows that are based in other products.
Geolog 7.4 allows engineers to assess
well integrity independently, Paradigm
details, and provides new well schematics

and production logging tools that assist
post-production formation evaluation. A
new, full-functioned geomechanics module
offers a comprehensive series of calculations and interactive tools for assessing
mechanical conditions around the wellbore,
the company adds.
New reservoir characterization plots
enable reservoir flow property estimates
from log data, Paradigm continues. The
company says Geolog pore pressure prediction functionality now is available in
a single integrated workflow.
Paradigm also has launched the Paradigm App Exchange (app.pdgm.com),
which aims to encourage collaboration
between members of the Paradigm user
community by sharing customer-developed
customization. The first available applications were developed with Geolog programming languages, such as Loglan and
tcl scripts, Paradigm says.

Latest RockWorks Suite Boosts Modeling Speed

Emerson Buys Yggdrasil
To Expand Roxar's Scope
STAVANGER, NORWAY-Emerson
Process Management has acquired Yggdrasil, a provider of flow assurance and
production optimization software. Emerson
says it will incorporate Yggdrasil's METTE
production optimization solution into the
Roxar reservoir management software
portfolio, providing operators with an integrated workflow from seismic interpretation and reservoir modeling to reservoir
simulation and production optimization.
The combination of data from predictive
reservoir models, production modeling and
field instrumentation will enable operators
to monitor production continuously and use
information from the field when forecasting
reservoir performance and making operational decisions, Emerson says.
"This integration will help customers
align their modeling, uncertainty quantification and simulation data with production, optimize their field development
and production plans, and increase oil
and gas recovery in today's challenging

METTE is an integrated flow assurance
