DrillProtectorTM Provides
Geosteering Services
THE WOODLANDS, TX.-FracGeo
has launched DrillProtectorTM, which it
says helps operators geosteer unconventional
and tight reservoir wells into the most
fracture-susceptible rock and optimize fracture stage spacing and cluster design using
only surface drilling data. The tool is available as a desktop module in FracGeo's
FracPredictorTM software platform or as a
cloud-based Web service.
DrillPredictor includes a new technology
that uses standard surface drilling data to
compute, in real time, the corrected mechanical specific energy (CMSE) that accounts for frictional losses along the wellbore, FracGeo says. FracGeo's CMSE is
used to calculate pore pressure, stresses,
natural fractures and geomechanical logs
along the wellbore. The company says
those logs then are used in its GMXsteeringTM technology to update 3-D geomechanical models in real time.
According to the company, immediately
after drilling, DrillPredictor recommends
an optimal completion strategy with adaptive
fracture stage spacing and cluster design
that accounts for the heterogeneous nature
of the computed stress and wellbore's geomechanical properties.

Drillinginfo Application Offers Database Access
AUSTIN, TX.-Drillinginfo has released
a mobile Web application that it describes
as an analytics and business intelligence
tool that gives customers access to nearly
the entire Drillinginfo database. According
to the company, the app includes missioncritical functions such as forecasting estimated
ultimate recoveries, tracking permit and
leasing activities, and providing customizable
notifications on specific areas of interest.
Oil and gas professionals often must
manually relate data from disparate sources,
Drillinginfo says. Drillinginfo reports its
tool enables direct analysis of the data in
context, allowing collaboration across any
organization.

TGS Permian Database Covers 430,000 Wells
HOUSTON-The Permian Basin database now commercially available from
TGS contains more than 430,000 wells,
including thousands of previously unidentified wellbores, the company says.
"As operators continue to flood into
the Permian Basin, the substantial completion of the TGS Permian Basin database
could not have been timed better," says

SUGAR LAND, TX.-FairfieldNodal
continues to expand its ongoing 3-D seismic
program in the Delaware Basin. The company says the Red Tank multiclient survey
will cross the heart of the basin's New
Mexico portion, adding more than 300
square miles to the company's regional
contiguous database of 3,000 square miles.
According to FairfieldNodal, acquisition
parameters are designed to target the Bone
Spring through Wolfcamp formations and
give operators the information needed to
make the right decisions in these highly
productive zones. To ensure customers will
have the best image available, the company
says it will be processing the data using
the latest techniques for noise removal,
signal conditioning, azimuthal analysis,
and imaging.

interpreted formation tops and basin temperature models covering the entire basin.
